In the face of cold weather in winter, especially after rain and snow, traditional three-cup wind speed sensors are prone to water accumulation and ice formation at the sensor bearings, causing the sensor to be unable to rotate normally. After freezing, manual deicing is required, which not only increases maintenance costs, but may also affect the accuracy of observation data. In addition, the wear and aging of mechanical parts will cause the accuracy and stability of the sensor to gradually decrease, especially in severe weather conditions.

The working principle of the anti-freezing ultrasonic wind speed and direction meter is to use the ultrasonic time difference method to measure wind speed. The speed of sound propagation in the air will be superimposed with the airflow speed in the wind direction. If the propagation direction of the ultrasonic wave is the same as the wind direction, its speed will increase; conversely, if the propagation direction of the ultrasonic wave is opposite to the wind direction, its speed will slow down. Therefore, under fixed detection conditions, the speed of ultrasonic wave propagation in the air can correspond to the wind speed function. Accurate wind speed and wind direction can be obtained by calculation. Since the speed of sound waves is greatly affected by temperature when they propagate in the air: the anemometer detects two opposite directions on two channels, so the effect of temperature on the speed of sound waves can be ignored. Users can select wind speed units, output frequency and output format according to their needs.
