Many organic substances dissolved in water can absorb ultraviolet (UV) light. This allows the sensor to accurately measure the level of organic pollutants by detecting how much UV light is absorbed at a wavelength of 254 nm. The sensor uses two light sources: one ultraviolet light to measure the COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) content, and another reference light to assess the water’s turbidity.
Additionally, FST100-COD106 employs a specialized algorithm that compensates for any loss of light along the path and reduces the impact of suspended particles in the water. This helps ensure that the measurements remain stable and reliable, even in water with varying levels of impurities.
