Ultrasonic Radar Integrated Flowmeter for Pipe Network Flow Measurement

2026-08-25

In scenarios of urban water supply and drainage, underground pipe networks and industrial fluid monitoring, conventional flowmeters often suffer from inaccurate measurement, vulnerable equipment and cumbersome operation‑maintenance work, caused by alternating full‑pipe and partial‑fill pipe conditions, complex media and harsh operating environments. To address these industry monitoring challenges, our company has developed the ultrasonic‑radar integrated flowmeter. It integrates multi‑dimensional sensing monitoring technologies and adopts an innovative dual‑wave flow‑measurement mode combining radar and ultrasonic waves, realizing high‑precision, all‑weather flow monitoring for pipes under full working conditions, and providing reliable data support for water conservancy & municipal administration as well as industrial fluid management and control.

Boasting a highly integrated all‑in‑one design, the ultrasonic‑radar integrated flowmeter incorporates multiple technologies including pressure‑liquid level sensing, water immersion detection, radar flow measurement and ultrasonic flow measurement, breaking the limitations of single‑measurement conventional devices. It is equipped with an intelligent working‑condition identification system. High‑precision water‑immersion sensors judge pipe operating status in real time, and the device automatically switches operation modes without manual intervention. Under partial‑fill pipe conditions, the radar velocity measurement plus radar liquid‑level monitoring mode is activated, suitable for open and semi‑open pipe flow measurement. Under full‑pipe conditions, it automatically switches to ultrasonic velocity measurement plus pressure‑liquid level monitoring mode to accurately capture full‑pipe fluid parameters, completely eliminating measurement blind spots under complex pipe‑network working conditions.

In terms of performance and accuracy, the ultrasonic‑radar integrated flowmeter is equipped with optimized algorithms and high‑definition sensing modules, delivering excellent performance for all monitoring parameters. The radar flow velocity ranges from ‑20 m/s to +20 m/s with accuracy of ±0.01 m/s; the ultrasonic flow velocity ranges from ‑10 m/s to +10 m/s to fit various flow‑velocity scenarios. Dual‑mode water‑level monitoring is supported: pressure‑based water‑level measurement covers 0.02‑10 m, while radar water‑level measurement covers 0.1‑20 m, fully adapting to shallow and deep water‑level measurement. Flow measurement accuracy reaches ±2 %, with fine resolution for instantaneous and cumulative flow. It can output core data such as flow velocity, water level, flow rate and temperature in real time, featuring stable measurement and strong anti‑interference capability.

Adopting an all‑electronic non‑mechanical‑structure design, the ultrasonic‑radar integrated flowmeter abandons the drawbacks of easy wear and jamming found in traditional mechanical flowmeters. With 12‑24 V wide‑voltage power supply and low‑power whole‑machine operation, it greatly reduces failure risks and operation‑maintenance costs. Its housing is integrally molded from high‑quality ABS with IP68 high protection grade and outstanding waterproof sealing performance. It can operate stably long‑term in humid harsh pipe environments within a wide temperature range of ‑20 ℃ ~ 80 ℃. The innovative top‑of‑pipe mounting method effectively avoids interference from silt and garbage sediment. Equipped with configurable mounting brackets, it fits installation on various pipes and channels with strong adaptability.

For communication, the ultrasonic‑radar integrated flowmeter is standard‑fitted with RS485 interface and supports standard Modbus‑RTU communication protocol for stable data transmission and high compatibility. It can be quickly connected to diverse monitoring platforms to realize real‑time data upload and remote management & control. Widely applied in urban underground drainage pipe networks, water supply‑drainage pipe networks, river‑entry and sea‑entry discharge outlets, as well as industrial liquid pipelines for petroleum, chemical and other industries, it features full‑working‑condition adaptability, high precision, maintenance‑free operation and easy installation. It serves as the preferred device for intelligent water conservancy and intelligent pipe‑network monitoring.
